A Water-Powered Watch For $58
A watch powered by a liquid that is available to the masses it is a Ferrowatch . A water-powered wristwatch. To power the watch, magnesium and copper use the water as an electrolyte to release positive ions that are converted into electric energy. The watch holds its power for up to five days for each fresh dose of water.
The watch’s face contains a small pool of the magnetic fluid and when held horizontally a magnetic backing creates animated gears and moving hands that indicate the time. And when the watch is tilted, instead of the fluid all spilling to one side, the last ‘image’ is frozen in place, once again thanks to the magnetic backing.
The Ferrowatch from designer Karim Zaouai is pretty spectacular it uses Ferrofluids!
